Job Description

The singular responsibility of the role is to manage and oversee the Firms Global Finance & Accounting Shared Services Operations Accounts Payable function in Chennai and Bangalore) 
The candidate  is expected to develop, syndicate and coordinate the long-term strategy for the center across the two locations, ensuring high quality, consistent and cost-effective services. More importantly, the objective is to create and demonstrate the value proposition in order to encourage the growth/expansion in services being leveraged by offices globally.
A key focus is to instill a continuous improvement mindset focused on leveraging technology and automation, positioning the center to effectively serve the Firm as it grows in size and complexity. 
Specific responsibilities would include -
Manage two or more GFA processes to ensure complete, accurate and timely processing of transactions 
Identify opportunities for transitioning new / additional activities to GFA for business development
Identify opportunities for effective FTE utilization and overall operational efficiency
Play an effective relationship manager role with clients and build enduring relationships
Work closely with HR to ensure and maintain a high level of employee engagement and morale
Manage the organizations resource cost effectively
Take a leadership role in establishment of processes and procedures to accommodate new functions taken on by the Center's Payables team
Develop, implement and reviews KPI (Key Performance Indicators). Recommend and define additional KPIs when new functions are handled/absorbed by the team
Research and recommend new payable solutions and products to improve the overall process and customer service. Drive global payables and payments projects in partnership with Firm treasury and participate in robotics/ automation initiatives
Identify operational issues and implement solutions to standardize & improve the overall process through Sprints & Lean initiatives
Act as a main point of contact for escalation/queries in Banking and Payments functions and lead problem resolution and solution development
Prepare regular reports, oversee teams productivity and quality metrics
Manage month-end close and use accounting/audit knowledge to conceptualize and implement new projects
Coach and motivate the team towards successful achievement of individual goals
Evaluate the skill requirements of each team member, and obtain the necessary training materials to maintain a high quality of service
Coordinate with Correspondent Banks on all bank related transactions
Establish harmonious and professional relationships with stakeholders through consistent development of action plans on concerns and issues
Participate as an active member of the SSC team in support of its overall goals & objectives
Monitor and report AP performance to key stakeholders and work with Finance leadership to develop and drive strategy to meet the organizations strategic objectives
Provide overall people leadership, mentorship and guidance for a team of 93 Firm members
Ensure the organization is future-ready and adaptable to a dynamically changing environment with interventions like RPA, AI, Digital Automation etc.
I. Ideal Candidate :
A seasoned Finance Leader with 15- 17 years overall experience in Account, preferably from the F&A Operations domain and Global stakeholder management experience. Could be from GICs/Shared Services (Banking/non-Banking), Consulting majors or Corporate Finance functions with a sizeable team span
Executive presence, with the ability to communicate and influence senior stakeholders across geographies is an absolute must!
Excellent problem solving, analytical and project management skills
Well-read Forward Thinker with the ability to think big and handle scale
Must have the inherent attitude of rolling sleeves up(as required) and taking the lead plus ownership for the unit
Non-hierarchical with a high tolerance for ambiguity
Strong financial and business acumen
General knowledge of Automation trends and technologies in Finance
High-level of integrity, professionalism and collaborative work approach is critical
Excellent communication and leadership skills
