The retired State Transport (ST) officials will rejoice with the recent announcement made by the transport department as they have declared that the ST officials retired after April 1, 2016, will receive the amount of increment of their pension in a lump sum and not installments. The announcement was made by Transport Minister and ST Corporation President Diwakar Raote.
The decision by the transport department is expected to benefit around 13,000 ST employees who will be receiving 240 crore of increment in a lump sum. The employees will be provided with relief and will be receiving the increment in their salary in a lump sum.
The decision was made in a meeting held by state transport ministry on January 2, Wednesday. Earlier, Raote had declared in June 2018, that the ST Corporation employees would be provided with increment and allotted 4,849 crore for the same.
However, the state transport department had decided to provide the retired officials with the increment amount between April 2016 and June 2018 in installments. But in the recently held meeting, it was decided that the amount would be paid to the officials in a lump sum. Accordingly, Raote has ordered the ST officials to comply with the orders immediately.
