Ujjain: Retire Police officer JP Chaturvedi has presented an exceptional example of affection towards environment. During his service tenure he decided to contribute something valuable for the society and now, at the age of 62, he has developed a park named ‘Dhanvantari Udhyan’ and planted 400 highly rare species of Ayurveda plants of immense medicinal importance.
JP Chaturvedi shared that he lives in Madhuvan Colony and coloniser had left a plot lying free for park in front of his house, so he got a chance to realise his dream to nurture environment with toil of his hard work and dedication. He started developing nursery by collecting rarest of the rare herbal medicinal plants from across the country.
He pointed out that several individuals and government agencies took interest in his efforts and supported him in every possible way. Forest department has provided with fencing around the park. The then corporator Veenu Kushwah has installed gates and benches in the park. MLA Mohan Yadav had made arrangements for uninterrupted water supply.
At present around 400 highly rare species of medicinal plants are enhancing park’s aesthetics .Baba Ramdev and his colleagues have visited the park Among others Vikram University’s Zoology department students, researchers from Veda-vidya pratishthan and several Ayurveda specialists, within and outside of city, too have visited this garden and praised the efforts of JP Chaturvedi.
