JAIPUR: After getting assurance from the state government to constitute a committee headed by a retired IAS officer, to look into the implementation of 7th pay commission, the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) employee unions called off their strike on Friday. The state government has also assured them to look into their demand of purchsing new buses. The truck operators too have ended their wee-long strike.
The joint forum of various employees’ unions of RSRTC attach ed with AITUC, INTUC and others, had started a strike from 12.00 am on Wednesday to 12.00 am on Thursday. However on Thursday evening, they declared to extend their strike.
Yunus Khan, Transport minister had invited various protestinting unions for talks. “Our main demands included implementation and will give his report in August. Likewise, we have been demanding to purchase new buses, to which the transport minister and other officers have assured to take measures. Thus, we are calling off our strike,” said ML Yadav, president of AITUC.
RSRTC employees at Sindhi camp bus stand also resumed their work at 10.00 pm on Thursday.
